A health group in Northumberland has received the backing of the county's MPs as it campaigns for greater help for its members.
The Hexham branch of the National Autistic Society travelled to
London to take part in the "Don't Write Me Off" campaign, which aims to
make things easier for those with autism when applying for benefits.
Stuart Ferrol, 38, from Hexham, went on behalf of the group and
attended the high-profile launch alongside MPs in the Strangers' dining
room.
He
said: "I couldn't believe the reception we got. It was very exciting -
absolutely jam-packed and with a lot of positivity about the campaign."....

As reported in Journal Extra in August, former members of Tynedale FM decided to set up their own multimedia group to attract film and TV crews.
It
would also have an online radio station, while podcasts would be there
for listeners as well as radio being available on mobiles.
They were also looking into the possibility of broadcasting via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth in buildings such as pubs and shops.
Now they have decided that Tyne Open Media - the name they decided
on for the new venture - will give people living or working in a west
Northumberland postcode a chance to own a part of the project....

Northumberland after being granted a licence to continue broadcasting.
